Nash Didan are members of the Jewish community whose roots lie in Urmia, Salmas, and the surrounding areas of northwestern Iran. The Jewish community of Urmia and its surroundings has a unique heritage, including a rich history, traditions and customs, family stories, Jewish Aramaic, community life, and generations of migration and immigration.
The Nash Didan website is a living community archive dedicated to the history of Nash Didan and the heritage of the Jewish communities of Urmia, Salmas, and the surrounding region. The website collects and preserves photographs, family documents, immigration stories, historical information, family histories, recipes, customs, and materials related to the Aramaic language and community life.
The website is created and maintained by Michael Demirel, with the aim of preserving and making the heritage of Nash Didan accessible to future generations. It is a growing archive, open to additional materials, memories, and stories from members of the community and their families.
