Folk Tales

Folk tales of the Nash Didan community, passed down from generation to generation. This collection features traditional folk stories, legends, tales, and stories from the daily life of the Jews of Urmia, Salmas, and the surrounding region, reflecting the community’s traditions, beliefs, values, humor, and memories. Some stories were documented by researchers and preserved in the Dov Noy Israel Folktale Archives at the University of Haifa, while others were written from memory by members of the community. The collection helps preserve the cultural heritage, oral traditions, and collective memory of Nash Didan for future generations.
